Gene "Ron" Borders
of
Chelsea, Michigan, age 76, died Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at his home. He
was born May 23, 1939 in Ashland, KY , the son of Eltia & Anna
(Roark) Borders Sr.
Ron was a member of the Chelsea High School class of 1958. He worked at Chelsea Milling for 42 years. Ron liked woodworking, was an avid gun collector and shot on a pistol team. He was a member of the Chelsea Rod and Gun Club.

On
September 6, 1958, he married Patricia Dvorak, and she survives. Other
survivors include a brother, Eltia (Debra) Borders of Chelsea; a sister,
Sheila (Byron) Gay of Traverse City; and many nieces and nephews. He
was preceded in death by a brother, Leo Borders, and his parents.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 16, 11:00 am at Cole Funeral Chapel, Chelsea. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Chelsea. The family will receive friends Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Chelsea Area Historical Society.
