Note: politically correct question....Okay, I'll start: My favorite part was watching my two grandgirls be angels in the impromptu Christmas children's nativity play. They are already angelic-looking, so it wasn't difficult to believe they were angels with their set of wings strategically placed on their backs.
When I lived in Canada, we also celebrated "Boxing Day"...a hangover from the Brits. That was a time one took presents to relatives out to relatives and friends in the country. All stores were still closed. A far cry from the rapid returns people do now! Not to mention the exchanges and after Christmas sales already underway!

My youngest kid, Caitlin, just turned 16 (drives her own car now) and she put carrots and cookies out on Christmas Eve. I am running out of Christmas's with her as a child. So I enjoyed this on immensely. Janet and I traditionally open a bottle of decent champagne and sip mimosas, listen to Christmas music, open presents leisurely, and laugh a lot. We played a big screen, HD, Hard Rock, surround sound, Wii version of Rock Heros III all day. A typical Atheists' holiday celebration.
Spending quality time with family and friends.
Other than that, watching and listening to catholic, atheists singing Christmas music. Rather amusing to observe schizophrenia in action.

Doug.
I used to be a Catholic, just like you used to be a high school student.
Then why would one celebrate CHRISTmas?
Perhaps visiting ones ancestors in Africa boiling missionaries in pots would be a more useful expenditure of one's time and resources.
But then of course, it's none of my business.

My favorite part is learning how to post a comment on this thing. Really Janet I am not very good at this pushing all these keys thing, so if this actually gets posted I think it will be my second success. Ed
Actually watching my grandaughter open her doll was my favorite. Never saw a kid more excited.
You pushed the keys just fine, and your comments were posted. Thanks, Ron, Doug C, Becky, Ed.
My first favorite part of Christmas was see my 2 y/o grandgirl get the orange and green beans in her stocking that she requested of Santa.
My second favorite part of Christmas was watching my 6 y/o grandgirl stand tall next to the 13 y/o head angel in the nativity pagent and measure only about 6 inches shorter.
