from the "old" high school. (Not the "new old" high school on Washington Street!) But, WHO was speaking at the ceremony?

Three things...

1. There are two rooms left in our block at the Holiday Inn Express:

• one non-smoking with 2 Queen-sized beds;
• one non-smoking handicapped accessible with 1 Queen-sized bed

The rooms will be released to the general public on August 19--by my calendar that's next Tuesday. To reserve, call: 517-433-1600 and ask for the CHS Reunion rate.

2. The booklets are here....thanks for the 14 contributors who have sent their check for $8. for their copy. Let's see, that leaves 14 contributors who need to write a check to "Jan Bernath" and send it to 238 Harrison Street, Chelsea 48118. (My VISA bill is waiting!)

3. Many checks are still MIA for the dinner at Reddeman Farms. If you are still coming, please write a check for $35./per person to "Sandy Weber" and send it to her at 175 Orchard Street, Chelsea 48118. If you do not intend to come as previously indicated, please let Doug C, Sandy, or me know. We hope you can come...moreover, we hope you will pay up!

We have learned that two of us cannot attend the reunion as previously planned . If you see a "U" after a name, the person will be unable to attend this year--both for health reasons. We'll miss them.

A message from golfer guy, Ron

Keith Haglund, owner and pro of the Waterloo Golf Course, has asked me to confirm the number of people that will be participating in the golf outing on Saturday the 20 of September.

I told him that I would. A week ago. And I forgot. Please help.

11 AM, Sept. 20, 2008, 9 easy, beautiful holes, $18 with cart. No pressure scramble (play each other's best ball) or even no-score, whatever, just fun. Hot dogs, soft drinks, beer, wine coolers available before or after or carry on the course.

I've had a number of people tell me that they would be interested in participating, but I promised Keith that I would let him know the exact number attending so he can make sure we have the carts and tee times set up.

Please reply asap if you plan on "golfing" that day. Also mention the number of people in your group. Everyone must have clubs, I have plenty available... not fancy clubs... but clubs. Let me know if you need them.

Even if you have never indicated that you would like to be part of the outing previously, let me know if you would like to join us. Everyone is welcome. Heck, even if you have never golfed before, you will have fun.

Booklet update

Twenty-eight people contributed to the class "reflections" booklet. Thanks to the eleven who have sent me a check for $8. to cover the printing. My visa bill appreciates it and so do I.

Attendance and payment update

We have a new classmate who indicated he's coming. Who is it? And, he indicated in the way that counts--with a check!

As the email from Doug C indicated, Gene Shroyer is not able to attend as planned. We know he is showing his usual "can do" attitude with his cancer treatment. Good wishes to Gene!

Forty-four classmates have indicated they are coming to the reunion. But, only 25 have paid for the dinner. Let's see....the deadline was last Friday. Sandy asks that you hurry with your check for the dinner: $35. per person, written to her and sent asap to 175 Orchard Street, Chelsea, 48118.

More rooms at the Holiday Inn

We've added five more rooms at the Holiday Inn, so we now have a total of 8 available. All of these are non-smoking. Three of them have double queen beds, and five have one queen bed. If you mention the CHS Class of 1958 50th Class Reunion, you should get a room for $85. with taxes included. Unreserved rooms in this block will be released on August 19th. New option for the reunion!

The Purple Rose Theater has extended the current production, Panhandle Slim and the Oklahoma Kid, with play and music written by Jeff Daniels. Times to see it during the reunion schedule are listed in the full text of the reunion dates and schedule below: two afternoon performances and one evening performance.

Afternoon performances are $33. per ticket; evening performances are $38. per ticket. The box office number is: 735-433-7673. They take Visa and Mastercard over the phone to reserve a seat; however, your card is not charged until the time of ticket pick-up.
